PURPOSE
This document contains the detailed procedure on how CS Lucas activates a device for identity verification when users log onto the CS Lucas system.
WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?
Device activation allows CS Lucas to associate your identity with your device. This helps to prevent unauthorized access to your account.
PROCEDURE
When you log in from a device that we do not recognize, CS Lucas challenges you to verify your identity using the following methods:
1. CS Lucas checks that whether your User Set Up has IP address restrictions. If “No IP Restriction” setting is disabled, only IP address that is within the Trusted IP Range is allowed. See how to set up trusted IP range. Tick on the checkbox for “No IP Restriction” to enable no IP restrictions for a user.
2. Next, CS Lucas will check from which device/ browser that you are logging. If the IP address and the browser are not recognized, you will be prompted to verify your identity. A verification code will be sent to your email address per in the user set up. Enter the verification code and click Verify.
3. When you verify your identity, you also activate your device/ browser. The activated login IP address and browser information are saved in Set Up > Systems > Security > Activated Login IP/Browser. No identity confirmation is required in the future when users are logged in from the same IP location and browser that has already been activated.
4. To remove an activated login IP/ browser, select the checkbox and click Delete.
